DEC 2 - From Place to Place (Going Somewhere)

“Now then, tell my servant David, ‘This is what the Lord Almighty says: I took you from the pasture, from tending the flock, and appointed you ruler over my people Israel. 9 I have been with you wherever you have gone, and I have cut off all your enemies from before you. Now I will make your name great, like the names of the greatest men on earth.

10 And I will provide a place for my people Israel and will plant them so that they can have a home of their own and no longer be disturbed. Wicked people will not oppress them anymore, as they did at the beginning

11 and have done ever since the time I appointed leaders over my people Israel. I will also give you rest from all your enemies. The Lord declares to you that the Lord himself will establish a house for you…”

2 Samuel 7:10:11 NKJV

“I took.”

“I have.“

“I will.“

Many of us think about things we’re supposed to do for the kingdom, or for God or the church. But we don’t often reflect on the things God has done for us. The idea being that we think we’ve gotten everything we deserve because of our actions, take a look at some statements below and see if they sound familiar:

“I worked hard for this-“

“I did this myself-“

“I built this with my own two hands-”

All great things, but they fall short to the things God has done for us. God’s saved us, redeemed us, cleared us of our own wrongdoing. He’s taken us from place to place and sometimes we fight it.

Sometimes we didn’t get the promotion because he’s keeping us from bad decisions and worse influences.

Your family might’ve moved from state to state but overall God had the victory in the spiritual health of your home.

God’s promises to David aren’t just for David, he’s representing God’s people the Israelites, and spiritually the principles are the same for us. God is working around you, for you and through you. It isn’t about permission or behavior, it’s about you going from place to place with God.

I took you from the pasture, from tending the flock, and appointed you ruler over my people Israel.
